CMS issues final Hospital Outpatient and ASC Payment Rules for 2021 On Dec. 2, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the 2021 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) final rule, which makes changes to Medicare hospital outpatient and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) policies. CMS extends 2020 MIPS hardship deadline to Feb. 1, 2021 CMS recently announced an extension of the 2020 hardship exception application deadline until Feb. 1, 2021. However, the deadline for the Promoting Interoperability Hardship Exception application will remain Dec. 31.
